When you go to the grocery store, there are literally dozens of different bars that a mom is faced with. It's easy to see that some are loaded with refined sugars-breakfast cereal bars, chewy 'fruit' filled bars, 'multi-grain' bars. But, what about the ones claiming to be 'healthy' or at least the ones that are meant to leave you with a healthy 'impression?' Can you recognize the bars pictured here?

They may seem healthy, but truth be told they may not be that different from those other processed snack bars. If you look at the ingredient list on the packaging of these bars, you will see that they are still full of lots of processed items. In particular, take a look at the type of sweeteners they use.
What's the difference between these and the refined sugars that the other snack bars use? To be honest, not much. In the end, they are all still just processed sugars. You might be asking yourself, "so what ?" Often times, processing strips the nutrients from the food and as in the case of sugar, this process is no different. So the next time you are at the store, take a closer look at the labels.
